The 25 tips are excellent. It's always nice to have specific steps one can take to do anything.

Alan, you can optimize your blog template like any other database generated web site. Customizing the blog with static pages can pretty much make it look like any other web site. Keep your content fresh and useful, be sure to reach out to other bloggers in your industry/target market and make it a destination that people will want to come back to.

As a new blogger, i found this article to be extremely helpful and informative. I've read a lot of articles on building traffic and a lot of them were extremely general.

At least this one gets down to the specifics which is a really good starting point for beginners.
